Airbrush Artist Colin Unkovich

Colin Unkovich displays original airbrushed, surf art, landscapes and seascapes and surrealism on his website. Colin Unkovich has been airbrush painting since the late 1970's and working as a full time artist since 2006. Based in Northland, Colin's finely detailed artworks often feature very smooth transitions of colour which give each of his works a unique feel or sense of mood. He is self taught and has developed many techniques that allow him to highlight the interplay of light and shadow that can give a transient form or a fleeting glimpse, an almost sculptural quality. Colin draws his inspiration from the natural forms of New Zealand, particularly the coast and from the effect that its unusual quality of light possesses. He has been part of various gallery exhibitions in Northland as well as working as an artist in residence at the "Mazda Artworks Exhibition' in Auckland in 2007. His paintings hang in collections in New Zealand, the UK, America and Europe
